Savannah School Guide
Savannah is home to many excellent schools that are sure to suit every educational need of you and your family. The area boasts exceptional public schools, private schools and colleges. The Savannah community is dedicated to working together to ensure that every student is being challenged and encouraged in a safe, academic environment.
Savannah Public Schools
 The Savannah-Chatham County Public School District operates a system of schools from kindergarten through high school and serves over 34,000 students in Chatham County. The school board consists of 8 members and an elected President and operates under a Board-Superintendent government system. Members of the board serve four year staggered terms, and each year the board elects a Vice President, a Vice President pro tempore, and appoints a Secretary. The board receives funding through local, state, and federal sources.
The school district is one of the largest employers in the county, employing 4500 full time employees including 3000 classroom instructors and certified personnel. The district is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and follows the rules and regulations set by the Georgia Department of Education. The district operates over 50 schools, satellite facilities such as the Massie Heritage Interpretation Center and Oatland Wildlife Center, an environmental education complex.

Savannah Private Schools
Benedictine Military School (9-12)
Benedictine Military School is a Catholic, college preparatory school that educates young men and helps them develop a deeper commitment to their faith. Savannah Colleges and Universities
Savannah College of Art and Design
SCAD offers more degree programs than any other art and design university in the nation and is focused on preparing students for fulfilling creative arts careers. SCAD continues to receive national and international recognition for its degree programs and career placement program. The school has been named one of the nation’s “Most Interesting Schools” and also one of “25 cutting-edge schools with an eye toward the future” by Kaplan-Newsweek.  Armstrong Atlantic State University

Savannah Technical College
Savannah Technical College is a regional leader in technical adult education and serves over 4,000 students in Bryan, Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties. The school offers over 50 certificate, diploma, and associate degree programs in a variety of fields including automotive, surgical technology, marketing, computer information sciences, culinary arts and more. South University-Savannah Campus
South University is well-known for its School of Pharmacy Building which showcases the Doctor of Pharmacy program that was introduced in 2003.
